MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Rostrata Primary School, an Independent Public School with more than 900 students, is a very welcoming and vibrant learning community where students are nurtured, engaged and challenged.

Experienced & Committed Staff

At Rostrata Primary School our highly experienced and committed staff work hard to provide the very best teaching and learning for students with excellent programs and many extra-curricular activities in place.  In fact, members of our staff have been recipients of national and international awards for their innovation and teaching excellence and students continually receive scholarships, academic prizes and acknowledgements for their significant achievements.  Rostrata Primary School has an outstanding reputation as a high performing school and students (who reside within the designated intake area) progress to Willetton Senior High School.

Our wonderful students live our motto of Cooperation, Achievement, Respect and Endeavour, C.A.R.E. Capitalising further on these attributes, our school actively develops our senior students through extensive leadership programs. Many Year 6 students are also provided with roles and opportunities to practise their leadership skills during the year.

Our school has a strong focus on science, technology, engineering, arts  and maths (STEAM), we have considerable expertise to support colleagues both here, and across the state, to integrate STEAM through innovative strategies that add value to student learning. The Arts are highly valued by our whole community and the music program features a string ensemble, junior and senior bands in addition to two choirs. The kitchen garden is a feature of our school community promoting sustainability and life skills with our Year 4-6 students enjoying the process of growing their own food and cooking produce with a specialist cooking teacher. We also implement a very strong whole school Positive Behaviour Support program that proactively promotes safe procedures and rewards good student behaviour. This has further developed the calm, caring and friendly tone of our school.

Rostrata enjoys wonderful support from our community. The P&C has been instrumental in assisting the school to become well-resourced in technology and more recently the playground by funding additional shade and an amazing adventure playground. The Board has also greatly assisted the school by supporting the strategic development and helping identify planning priorities and setting future directions. The recently formed “Dad’s Group” is an exciting opportunity to further connect families within our community and of course our school.

I encourage all of our families to engage, interact with staff and experience what a wonderful school their children attend.
