Second Language is taught to Rostrata’s students in Year 2 through to Year 6. An exciting program encourages all students to sing, speak, write and read in Italian in a stimulating language-rich classroom.
The explicit instruction in grammar consolidates the English language taught in classrooms, allowing students to transfer their literacy skills between languages and become pluralingual.
Students use technology and research skills to investigate Italy’s history, geography and evolving culture. Second language learning lays the foundations for powerful communication skills and an appreciation of various cultural norms.
